Pottery Barn inspired desk is a easy build with a simple design.

Directions

Follow the steps below to complete this project.

Step 1

Cut your desk top. 1x10x96" / 2 @ 48". Drill pocket-holes to plank the board using 1-1/4" pocket-hole screws & wood glue.

Step 2

Cut the leg panels 1x10x96" / 4 @ 28 1/2" Actual: 3/4"x 9 1/8"x 96" NOTE: not all wood is created equally. Measure the Width of you board before cutting -you may need to readjust the measurements of your trim and shelves as you go.

Step 3

Assemble the 2 panel legs. Drill pocket-holes to plank the boards together & attach with 1-1/4" pocket-hole screws & wood glue.

Step 4

Measure the width of your side panel. Mine was 18 1/4" (could be slightly different depending on your Lumber) Cut the shelves. 1x12x96"/ cut 2 at 18 1/4". Drill pocket-holes on the sides of the boards that will be attaching to the side panels.

Step 5

Attach the shelves to the 1 of the side panels using 1-1/4" pocket-hole screws & wood glue. Repeat for 2nd side panel.

Step 6

Cut 2 4x4 legs. Cut 2 legs @ 27". Cut 1 2x4 at 18 1/4" Drill pocket-holes in the top end of the 4x4. Cut 1 2x4 at 18 1/4". Attach the 4x4s to the 2x4 using 2-1/2" pocket-hole screws & wood glue.

Step 7

Attach the legs to the desk top. Attach the 4x4 legs using 2" wood screws & wood glue. Attach the side shelf using 1-1/4" pocket-hole screws & wood glue.

Step 8

Cut & attach the bottom 4"x4" leg support. Cut 2"x4"x11 1/2". Drill pocket-holes on both ends of the 11-1/2" board & attach to the 4"x4" legs using 2 1/2" pocket-hole screws & wood glue.

Step 9

Refer below for cut measurements. Attach your trim with a nailer using 1-1/4" finishing nails & wood glue. Refer to picture for placement. 1x3: 5 @ 18 1/4" Front Trim: 1x3: 1 @ 49 1/2" Front Vertical Shelf Trim: 1x2: 2 @ 27" Front Horizontal Shelf Trim: 1x2: 2 @ 11 1/4"

Step 10
