This wall mount hair appliance storage unit allows for all hair care products to be stored in a convenient space on the wall and off the counter. All cords are nicely wound up on the inside door.

Follow the steps below to complete this project.

Cut Sides

Cut sides based on the dimensions shown (x2). Drill two pocket holes along the top of the side (Note: Pocket holes should be drilled on the side the will face inward). Also, drill holes in the bottom front (inside) corner for the pivot hinge inserts according to pivot hinge package instructions.

Cut Power Strip Cord Hole

A 1-3/4" hole must be drilled on one of the two side pieces (depending on where your closest outlet will be) to allow the power strip cord to exit. Router the hole edges to make a smooth entrance/exit for the cord. You will also need to drill a 5/16" pilot hole with a 3/8" countersink 4" from the bottom and 2-1/2" from the back. This will be used for the screw that will hold the dowel used to keep the cords out of the way in place.

Cut Front

Cut front according to cut list.

Cut Back

Cut the back piece 12-3/4" W x 11-1/4" H. Drill 3 pocket holes along where the two sides and top will meet the back. Pocket holes should be drilled on the backside of the back to hide them when the appliance holder is mounted.

Cut Top - Cut Appliance Holes

Cut the top based on the dimensions outlined on the Cut List. Once the top has been cut to the correct size, drill three appliance holder insert (see Extras for link to purchase inserts) holes. This should be done with a hole saw. The two outside holes should be 2-3/4" diameter holes with their centers being 3-3/4" from the outside edges. The center hole should be a 1-3/4" diameter hole, center is 7-1/2" from outside edge. Note: a small hole should be drilled out at the back corner of each hole to allow cords into the housing.

Attach Sides to Back

Attach the two sides to the back piece using the previously drilled pocket holes on the outside edges of the back. Make sure the pocket holes for the back are facing outward (backside) so they can be hidden when completed project is hung on the wall. Note: pocket holes for sides pieces should face inward.

Attach Top

Attach the previously cut top, with insert holes cut, to the sides and back. Attach using the previously drilled pocket holes (3 on back and two on inside of each side).

Attach Front

Attach the front door using the pivot hinges. Follow the directions on the package for the pivot hinges. Insert plastic ring into previously drilled holes in the front bottom corners of each side. Attach magnetic latch to inside front of top. Attach front door to the magnetic latch. Note: this will make it easier to determine where to attach metal hinge to door. When the door is in the proper location, mark with a pencil the top and bottom of metal hinges. Take door off, place hinges inside marked lines, drill pilot hole for hinges. Lay appliance holder on back. Attach one hinge to door, insert into hole in side. Insert second hinge into hole on opposite side, attach to door.

Attach Cord Saver Dowel

Cut dowel to length. Slide dowel in between two sides until its center is lined up with previously drilled pilot hole and countersink holes of sides. Attach the cord saver dowel with one screw on each side.

Attach Drawer-Pull Handle

Attach the drawer-pull handle according to the handle package specifications.

Attach Wire Management

Attach wire management system (see third link in Extras) to the inside of front. Make sure placement allows for front to close/latch properly.

Insert Appliance Inserts

Insert the appliance inserts into the pre-cut holes on the top.
