This couch arm cup holder is perfect for any chair that doesn't have a table within arm's reach. We have lots of guests who sit in this chair with no place for their drink. This cup holder has a place for your drink, phone and remote control. Plus, it's customizable for any chair arm width.

Directions

Follow the steps below to complete this project.

1

Make your cuts

Using a 4" wide piece of lumber, make the following length cuts to create five pieces named, aptly, pieces 1-5: -Piece 1- 3" -Piece 2- 5 1/2" (this piece is adjustable for your size chair. Make the length what you need to span the arm of your chair) -Piece 3- 6" -Piece 4- 4" -Piece 5- 3"

2

Drill pocket holes

Drill pocket holes into the following pieces on 4" long sides: - Piece 1- two holes on the same side - Piece 2- no holes - Piece 3- two holes on the same side - Piece 4- two holes on both sides - Piece 5- no holes

3

Create the cup holder

Attach Piece 1 and Piece 3 to the underside of Piece 2 with the pocket holes both facing in.

4

Create the accessories holder

Attach Piece 4 to the bottom outside edge of Piece 3 and to the bottom inside edge of Piece 5 with the pocket holes facing down.

5

Sand, Stain and Seal

Sand everything down, rounding off all the edges. Then choose your stain and stain the whole project. Don't forget to seal it, since any condensation from a beverage will damage unsealed wood.

6

Hang on your couch

Hang your couch arm cup holder over the arm of your chair with Piece 2 over the top of the arm.
