Tired of tripping over everyone's shoes in the foyer of your home. Build this Shoe Cabinet & modify it to your own needs. I mounted it to the wall & included a top drawer with a hidden charging station.

Follow the steps below to complete this project.

Step 1

This Shoe Cabinet can be modified to your specific needs. Use the attached plans as a guideline to create YOURS. The height, width & depth of the cabinet fits in our Foyer perfectly. The cabinet has no back & can be mounted directly to the wall. I used the Kreg Pocket Hole Jig to assemble the cabinet. The cabinet can be of any width or height. You can include a drawer or not. Since the cabinet is only 12 inches deep, I designed the cabinet with 2 front legs & mounted it to the wall. I kept it up off the floor to clear the baseboard on the wall.

Step 2

I found the shoe cabinet hardware on Amazon. Order the sizes that fit your needs. I did not mount them as they recommended. I created 2 doors & simply mounted the shoe brackets to the back of the doors. I used basic door hinges to mount the doors to the cabinet. I included a stop on each door so the door would not fall too far forward. There was an electrical wall outlet behind the cabinet, so I enclosed a cabinet outlet with 2 USB outlets for charging our cells phones inside the drawer.

Step 3

I sanded the entire cabinet smooth & painted the poplar to match our trim in the foyer. Now all our shoes are neatly tucked away out of sight! (The wife put a "plug-in" air fresher in the wall outlet behind the cabinet, keeps the cabinet fresh smelling.)
