This was a very easy plan to follow, although as mentioned in other reviews the shelves are 1/4” to narrow. In the plans they call for 9 1/2” wide they should be 9 3/4” wide. They need to be as wide as the middle divider. The middle divider is 10 1/2” wide at the top, but the 3/4” back reduces that width to 9 3/4” requiring the shelve to be 9 3/4”. I hope that was clear.
Otherwise, it was a quick and easy build.
I like the fact that it didn’t have a lid to pinch little fingers and that it had the book shelve.
I added felt pads to the bottom to help avoid scratching wooden floors.

This is just what my wife and I was looking for. A nice book case with toy storage. Plans were good but when it came to install the shelves, they were 1/4" to small. With a 9 1/2" shelf and a 10 1/2" middle you have a 1" diff. Then minus the 3/4" for your back leaves a 1/4" gap. Recut shelves at 9 3/4" and worked great.

This was my first piece of furniture I have built. It's fairly simple and looks great.

This project was exactly what I was looking for. Very detailed with straight forward and not overly complicated steps. I used a slightly thinner, sanded plywood vs the recommended 3/4" from the materials list. With minor measurement adjustments and shorter screws, it came out perfect.

My wife wanted a toy chest for our granddaughter but didn't want a lid that could pinch fingers. She found this one and with some modifications it fit our needs perfectly.
Plans were good and easy to follow.
